More on email: Evolve to attract and retain patients

We know that you're busy. We know that you don't have the time to sit down and tinker with a new communications system; even researching such a thing would require valuable time that you just don't have.

We also know that having the telephone as your sole line of communication is costing you. Most importantly, avoiding email communications is costing you, especially when it comes to appointment reminders. It is wasting your time, money, and could be costing you new patients that are considering your practice.

Evolving to add email communications is the easy way to attract new patients and retain the ones you already serve.

Rosemarie Nelson, a self-proclaimed “healthcare technology guru” and management consultant, tunes in on the rising contemporary expectation for Internet communications in the medical world. “In a recent Harris Interactive poll, 77 percent of the adults surveyed indicated they would appreciate e-mail reminders from their physicians when they are due for a visit or follow-up care,” she says. The poll also revealed, in concurrence with other studies, that many patients will choose a new doctor based on whether they use modernized forms of communication.

The conclusion is that it is essential for medical practices to evolve along with the times. Using technology to one's advantage will not only determine the practice's growth, but its survival against other competitors. When so many patients want email reminders from their physicians and 1/3 of patients are more likely to choose a medical practice that offers them, it is high time your practice allowed its communication system to evolve. You simply cannot afford to be without an updated, automated appointment reminder system any longer.

It has now become worth your time to sit down and research an automated appointment reminder system.  To learn more about Webley MD Reminders, an award winning automated email and phone reminder service, sign up for a demo.
